The Easiest Way to Build a Sturdy A-Frame: To assemble, simply cross the top beam through the top space of the bracket and slide it into the desired position. Drill holes in the beam through the pre-punched holes on the brackets, then secure the brackets with lag bolts and gaskets. Next, slide the two side support legs into the openings of the brackets and fasten them with bolts and gaskets. We recommend using a 4x6 (actual 3.5x5.5) top beam and 4x4 (actual 3.5x3.5) side support legs.

Caution: Do not try to force the wood into the brackets. The wood should slide in smoothly. If the wood is oversized or uneven, you may need to treat it before installation. However, do not worry about the wood becoming loose when using the brackets, as the 16 bolts and gaskets will securely fix it and prevent sliding.
